With miles of creeks, beaver ponds, and hidden lakes, the Ashcroft Valley is a trout fisherman’s heaven. Book a guide to hook your first fish, or show you all the secret spots. Guides provide all the necessary equipment, just bring your sunscreen and all fishers must have a valid colorado fishing license. All fishing is catch and release only. Guided Hikes with ACES

Experience the Flora & Fauna

Curious about the local Flora and Fauna of the upper Castle Creek Valley? Book a guided tour with one of Aspen Center for Environmental Studies experienced naturalists. The hikes depart from the Catto Center at Toklat, and take visitors through the historic Ashcroft Ghost town, before following the stunning Castle Creek river through Aspen Groves, coniferous forests, and wild flower meadows, taking in the wildlife, the history, and the flora. Tours end with either an A La Carte Lunch at the Pine Creek Cookhouse, or choose to order a Picnic to bring and picnic in one of the stunning meadows at the base of the Elk Mountains. Ashcroft Horseback Adventures

2 Hour Horse Back ride, includes guide, 2 course lunch, does not include beverages or 20% service charge. Minimum age is 8 years old.

Lunch Tour

  • Meet at 10:30 a.m. or 12:30pm at the King Cabin Adventure Lodge
  • One Hour to restaurant one hour back, or two hour tour without lunch.
  • Optional $45/person two course lunch at PCCH, not included in price.
  • $305 per person, + 20% gratuity

Dinner Tour

  • Meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Pine Creek Cookhouse, 1.5 hour sunset ride returns to restaurant for dinner.
  • Optional a la carte dinner at PCCH, not included in price.
  • $305 per person, + 20% gratuity

Full-Day Horseback Tour

  • Full day times are flexible based on 8 hours
